Are your arms tired of tugging on that old garage door? Experimental Mommy has the cure~!
Are your arms tired of tugging on that old garage door? Experimental Mommy has the cure~! I have struggled with Rhuematoid Arthritis for the past 15 years and if that wasn't enough I was in a car accident that left me with a torn rotor cuff so tugging on the garage door was just to painful so whenever I needed something from the garage I'd have to ask someone to open the door for me. This doesn't work so well when no one is home to ask though. So when I read a review about the Genie SilentMax 1000 Garage Door Opener I was excited to say the least. The name gives away one of the nice features which is it's silent. No obnoxious noises to wake up the neighborhood but my favorite feature was the security setting. To read more about the Genie SilentMax 1000 and enter to win (yes I said win) one just click on over to The Not-So-Blog Experimental Mommy.

$50 for Personalized Gifts from PictureIt Creations Giveaway Going On At It's The Thought That Counts
I just discovered a new site called PictureIt Creations from reading a review at "It's The Thought That Counts". I found some real nice Maple Wood items on their site that I would love to have. The best part is they engrave the items for you. One item I liked was a Compact Mirror and another was a nice Letter Opener. What I liked the best was their Pet Urn. My Mother recently lost her dog named Heidi-Mae who was a family member to all of us and I would of loved to have giving this to my Mother for Heidi-Mae's ashes. Our pets are like family members and we love them dearly. I have a dog named Toto that eats what we eat (I know that isn't good for them but I make her eat rice and veggies too). Sleeps in the middle of our bed in between us and has anxiety attacks when ever we leave her home alone so that rarely ever happens if at all possible. I'm sure when her day comes my heart is going to break~! I will definitely have to order this special urn to keep her among us where as she couldn't stand to be apart from us now. They sell engraved items on all kind of materials such as marble or glass. If you would like to read the complete review and enter to win a $50 GC to PictureIt Creations your going to have to click on over to "It's the Thought That Counts". Just click here.

She's done it again~! Sweeps4Bloggers Fantastic Review & Giveaway~!
Sweeps4Bloggers is not a new blogger around here. I'm always finding myself blogging about one or more of her fantastic reviews/giveaways. This time is no different. Thanks to her review & giveaway I just discovered a fantastic printing company called moo.com. This printer stands out from all the rest because you can pick several designs for one printing job and there are tons to choose from right on moo.com site. For example I was just checking out all the designs moo.com offered for postcards and every time I found one I liked I just clicked the button that said drop down and it would put it in my prints so if I ordered 60 postcards and I had dropped 6 different designs into my prints then I would get 10 prints of each 6 designs. So instead of getting 60 of the same design you can mix it up a bit and get several different designs. Cool right,,,,,well there's more. Sweeps4Bloggers has done a complete review and 5 of her readers have a chance to win a $100 Gift Certificate from moo.com,,,,,, yes 5winners of $100 Gift Card. I couldn't wait to enter and I'm sure you can't either so just click here.

I was really excited when I read about the Tersano Lotus LBU100 Sanitizing System at a review over to One Crazy Mom. What causes most to have a minor sniffle puts me down for weeks~! That is why I was so excited about this review at One Crazy Mom because she also has one to giveaway Wooooo Hoooo. The Tersano Lotus LBU100 Sanitizing System is 50% more effective than bleach. You can Sanitize just about any thing. Staycation Geocaching and More for under $30
The cost of taking a vacation this year just wasn't in our budget with trying to get the house finished by late fall. Of course the kids don't understand priorities and when on school vacation they just want to have lots of fun. Winters here are brutal and we are cooped up for months with usually game night and movie night but not much for fun trips so when summer comes we like to plan several fun trips for the kids but this year we decided it would have to be simple & cheap. So I packed a picnic, grabbed my camera, put $20 in the gas tank and off we went to celebrate the 4th of July. We payed some respect to our fallen troops and had a nice picnic and then we spent the rest of the day exploring and treasure hunting doing a lot of geocaching. The kids had a blast~! While looking for a geocach we came across The Blacksmith Museum and decided to stop and check it out. The cost was by donations with a steel drop box inside. Which I thought that was wonderful because that way everyone no matter what their financial situation could enjoy the museum. We all signed the book and the kids started exploring the museum. It was educational for them to because I had to explain what the tools were for and how they used them and they were able to handle all the tools and make pretend they were blacksmith's.
These pictures were of the Blacksmith Bellows and they had it set up so when you cranked the Bellow the air would blow colored tinsel to imitate fire and that the air would make the fire grow larger and hotter. The kids really liked trying this out. One would crank the Bellow while another put their face over the air shaft to feel the air rush up. They did this several times laughing at each others faces they made. This was just one of many tools that were at the Museum.
We spent about an hour exploring all the tools in the Museum and the whole times the kids pretended they were working as Blacksmith's in the shop. It really was a good time for all of us. I didn't know how well the pictures would come out because there was no light in the building and it was kind of dark in there but they came out pretty good considering. Can you tell they had a good time lol
They tried on hats and gloves and used all the tools before we left. Finally we decided it was time to finish looking for the hiding treasure so we left a $10 donation in the drop box and off we went to explore some more.
On the last treasure hunt we had a little mis-hap which made me laugh so hard I cried. Because we want it to be fair and give everyone a chance to find the geocach we take turns and go in pairs each sharing the handheld GPS . It was the last geocach hunt of the day and it was the youngest turn to try and find it and the two boys ran off to find it while us girls stayed at the car waiting to see if they could find it. Then they came running back with the geocach box in hand all excited and laughing really hard.
When I discovered what they were laughing about I also broke out in laughter. I guess what happened is they were racing to see who could get to the location first when the younger one ran straight threw a pile of poop slipping, fell and slide threw it. He was covered from knees down with the mess. Well I said your not getting in my car like that~!!! We ended up stripping his pants, socks and shoes off and tied them in a plastic bag and put them in the trunk to wash when we got home. I'm sure the go-byers on busy Rt 150 was wondering why this little fellow was stripping off his clothes on the side of the road lol (a few blew the horn and waved) and he road home in his little boxers. I think next time maybe we will take a change of clothes and some baby wipes just in case.
When I asked how and where did the um poop came from they said some one had left a bunch of diapers just off the highway at the edge of the woods (grrrrrrrr that really annoys me) and they were running so fast they didn't see it in time for him to stop. He tried to stop and that's what made him slip and slide straight threw it~!!! Needless to say we laughed all the way home. The only thing that upset me was some individual was crude and rude enough to litter and leave such a mess. Maine is a beautiful state and we enjoy keeping it clean so when some idiot does this it really makes us mad. If you don't know much about geocaching the reason most people go is because it will take you to some of the most beautiful sites the state has to offer because most people hide them in their favorite spots. That's why you always want to take a camera. Geocachers also care about the environment and they hold what they call "CICO" which stands for Cash In Carry Out.
When they have a CICO everyone takes a trash bag and ties it to their belt loop and they look for the geocach treasure on the way in and after they find it they clean any trash they see on the ground on the way out. (Thank You fellow geocachers)
The total cost of our staycation was $30 total. I donated $10 for the Museum and I put $20 in for gas and we had as much fun as any vacation day that has cost us over $500. By saving on our staycation we will be able to do this 4 more times this summer and spend about $100 total.
5 day trips at $500 equals $2500 and 5 staycation cost us $100 saving us a grand total of $2400 and we will still have as much fun. I'm already planning our next staycation that we will be taking in two weeks. Total cost for it should be $25.-$35 stay tuned for staycation #2.

Sweeps4Bloggers is Cooking Up a Scrumptious Giveaway!
I am so excited to tell you about another great giveaway going on at Sweeps4Bloggers. If you love to cook your going to love what's going on at Sweeps4Bloggers. She has been busy posting a wonderful review and giveaway for Anthony’s Whole Grain Pasta and a Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless Steel 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set (ARV $160). Yes you read that right~! Why am I so excited? It's kind of a long story but I'll try to keep it short , you see I have never owned new cookware. Why? well when I moved into my first apartment my Mother gave me some of her old dishes and because I needed everything but couldn't afford everything I went to yard sales to buy what ever I could find cheap. Then I guess it's just one of those things that I keep saying "I've got to get a new cookware set" but just when I plan on shopping something else breaks around the house so it gets put on the back burner (pun intended). For example I was going to go shopping for a new cookware set in February of this year and low and behold the element in my oven went kaput. That's why when I read her review I couldn't wait to enter her giveaway. If you would like to learn more about this giveaway go check out Sweeps4Bloggers complete review and enter for your chance to win this fantastic set of cookware and pasta.

Uprinting offers online printing services for all your printing needs.I have been using Uprinting for the past two years. One of the features that Uprinting offers is to get a proof of your design before ordering. This insures that your custom design is exactly the way you want it. I also like that Uprinting has an online chat option to help with any questions and phone support in case you want to talk with a live representative. Even though these options are available I had no reason to use them because Uprinting made it so easy to complete my order. Today I had the opportunity to design some really cute Window Clings. Uprinting offers endless designs to choose from or you can upload your own design. The choice is all yours.
We have a music room in our house and I found this really neat Window Cling that would look great in the studio. No I didn't design this one. This is actually one that Uprinting offers.
I also found a Window Cling that I thought would be a great way to thank our fallen troops. I downloaded this design and added my own text. Uprinting is so easy to navigate It took me less than 3 minutes from start to finish.
To find this design I just typed the word "Troops" in the search box and up came several designs and I just clicked on the one I wanted. The choices of designs and options seem to be endless. What took me the longest was choosing one from so many wonderful designs.
I'm not a very creative person so I was thankful for all the designs, however if your real crafty and have created your own design they can fulfill that order too.
Uprinting has offered me the opportunity to offer one of my readers a 16" x 20" Window Cling for One (1) Winner
Opaque Static Cling w/ Bright Gloss Finish, 1 Business Day Turnaround
Restriction: Limited to US residents 18 years old and above only.

Custom Cupboards
During the winter months the cupboards were built and I just love them. I'm a wood nut and love tongue and groove pine. The entire house is done mostly in pine. I wanted to keep the cupboards matching the wall with the pine but I also wanted them to stand out so that's when I came up with the idea to go with round cupboard doors and a round contour curve. We have a utility room under the stairway in the kitchen that we kept the same theme and made a round door. The kitchen has an adjoining dining room with sliding glass doors to the back yard and a round valance type entrance was made for that as well. We even did the windows with wooden round shaped valances. I can't wait for the house to be completed but we are getting closer every day. We just finished adding on a mud room that measures 10 x 12 to hold all the shoes and coats. Living in Maine a mud room comes in real handy. First you have winter which tracks in snow and makes a mess of the floor then comes spring for what we call mud season. This will help keep the floors clean. Our next big project is to put in a stone fireplace and chimney. If we get that done by late summer I'm hoping to add on a huge family room. But time will tell if that will be possible. I took this picture during the construction of the cupboards with my cell phone camera so the picture quality isn't that great but at least it gives you an idea of what they look like.
Not Scrapping but Scraping To Get Buy ~Make Money~
Who ever thought you could make money from broken down junk. That's exactly what I did. When I started construction on the new house there was junk on the land everywhere. Nothing had been cleaned up for years. I wanted it out of site, so I had it hauled outback because at the time the dump charged you for everything not to mention the gas cost to haul it three towns away (we do not have our own transfer station) and I was short for time. I figured I would haul it off some day when construction was completed. For those of you who have followed this blog since the beginning you know I have been building a house pay check by paycheck for the past 6 years. Construction is not completely completed but I am living in the new house now. One day I heard a friend talking about "junking" or what some call "Scrapping". This is when you take your metal junk that is no longer any good to a metal recycling shop/plant and they pay you by the pound for it. There is some things you need to know first if you want to make the most money possible. One is there are several different metals and you get paid different amount per pound depending on what kind of metal it is. Another is they grade the metal and you get paid by the grade. The cleaner the metal and the size of the metal determines what grade it is. For example if you junked an old air conditioner and just threw it on the truck to take it to the recycling shop that would be mixed metal and you wouldn't get paid much because it contains wires and two or three different type of metals in it. But let's say you took the motor and stripped it down to just plain steel you would get the higher price. The bottom line is the more you separate and the more work you do the more you get paid per pound. This was awesome because not only did I get my land cleaned up but I got paid to do it. Make the world a greener place to live , clean your yard and make money while you do it.

Hoover Giveaway At Mom Spotted
Mom Spotted is having a fantastic review and giveaway right now for a Hoover MaxExtract Carpet Cleaner~! How cool is that or should I say how clean is that lol . My floors need Hoover soooooo bad. I was so excited when I saw this review and giveaway. This Hoover MaxExtract Carpet Cleaner is the bomb. I have two small grandchildren that play on my floors and I cringe to think what is hiding in the fibers of my rugs. I really hate it. Resolve and a sponge mop just doesn't get the deep down dirt out no matter how clean the surface looks. I love that the Hoover sucks up the dirt and doesn't just push it around. Hop on over to Mom Spotted and check it out and while your there enter to win one like I did.

Geocaching DownEast
You never know where your going to end up when you go geocaching. We spent a week in the Downeast area in Maine this is just a few things we saw while vacationing. this is a huge Whale head skull.
We also ended up at a bird sanctuary and walked the trails and this is a picture of my son at the "Queen's Thrown"
I just wish I had taking my good camera. Instead I ended up using my cell phone to take pics with. We also found a geocach at this nice picnic area. It had a great view and over 20 brand new picnic tables to enjoy lunch at.
