Soda Maker Rocks~

Oh how I could use this wonderful machine. I have been lugging groceries up the mountain through the path in the woods to the house for the past 6yrs and this new gadget called the "Home Soda Maker" would save me so much heavy lugging. The mountain is so steep I have to stop 2 or 3 times while lugging groceries up to rest. I often skip buying soda just because it's so heavy to lug. Making A Dream One Dollar At A time~

As some of you know we have been building a house for the past 5yrs and we are so excited since we are getting closer to the day we get to move in. We figure if all goes as planned in another year and a half we will be in the new house and no long paying rent YEAH~! The past year has been difficult with the rising cost of fuel and since I live in Maine and it's down right cold here we go through a lot of fuel matter of fact It's suppose to be -10 below tonight and I just had to call for an emergency fuel delivery. I don't think we would of made it through the night. My fuel company forgot to deliver to me on their normal delivery day two weeks ago and I hadn't noticed that I didn't get a bill. ~Hot Mouse ~

It gets real cold here at lately we have had -30 below temps. I have dealt with frozen pipes for the past 4 days and my RA has been acting up from such cold temps. I use a space heater to keep my feet warm but my hands get cold and sore. I like that there is only one wheel in the front. I think it is easier to steer and maneuver the stroller with only the one wheel in the front. Need a new movie to watch?

We just watched a new movie two nights ago and I'm kinda picky when it comes to movies.I like horrors that actually has a story to it or at least a plot and many are just blood and guts and I think they are so boring and stupid. Horrors are my favorite but I don't watch to many because I think they are just in poor taste. I have found a desire to watch action films lately but I am also a critic since many are featured on the label of the movie as action but then when you watch it you actually could fall asleep. But for you die hard action movie goers I found one that I thought was none stop action and a must see. The name of the movie is "Eagle Eye". I was actually surprised at how good this movie was. It started slow the first 5 minutes or so but when the action started it didn't stop until the end. So if your looking for a new movie to watch check it out.

Skil Power Cutter Giveaway~

This would be so helpful since I have R.A. and my hands hurt using scissors on hard to cut projects and to open those rotten plastic containers they use all the time in stores now. Brrrrrrrr It's Cold~! Frozen Pipes Again GRrrr~

I have lived in Maine my entire life and this past week has been one of the coldest weeks we have had in years. Some places reached -50 below and we have been at -20 below for a few days. When I woke up yesterday morning we had -33 below and that was without any wind chill factor. I have woke up to frozen pipes 3 days in a row. I don't know what I would do without my trusty hair dryer lol. We have frozen pipes on occasion and I'm use to that but it is usually located in just two places in the house and is usually the hot water. That has not been the case these few past days. Every pipe in the house has been froze up cold and hot. Having to deal with thawing pipes at 5AM before I get my first cup of coffee is no picnic I can tell you that. The first pipes we tackle are the kitchen sink so we can get coffee brewing to give us the strength to tackle the others so out come the space heater and the hair dryer and extension cords.It was obvious this mornings thawing was going to be a bit longer and more challenging since every pipe was frozen. The only item in the house that uses water didn't work except the toilet. The longer pipes are frozen the chances of the pipes breaking are better so we moved quickly. I have found that the hair dryer produces more hot air and works better than the space heater so we used that on the kitchen sink while the space heater was running in the bathroom since showers were our next priority. Once we thawed the kitchen sink we grabbed the hair dryer and ran to the bathroom and started that with the space heater. Then all that was left was the dish washer and washing machine. In that order lol All in All it wasn't to bad with in about an hour we had all pipes thawed and working with no broken pipes. I was some glad of that because if you end up with broken pipes it's a mess and can cause damage to rugs and such not to mention that it will probably take a few hours to fix as well. I know this from experience trust me~! We came home from a three day trip from NH back about 3 or 4 years ago to the house frozen solid. My father was suppose to run the water 3 times a day for us while we were gone but even though he did this it froze during the night and since he didn't know the procedure that we now have down packed from years of frozen pipes he didn't know how to get them thawed out. Not to say he didn't try because he did for hours but just didn't know the right spots to stick the hair dryer in. I wish my parents had called me I could of walked them through it but they didn't want to spoil our vacation so didn't bother to call and let us know so when we came home we had a mess and I mean a big mess! ( I so wished they had called). We ended up with three broken pipes and a rug that ended up being replaced. It took over 6hrs to fix the pipes and another day replacing the living room rug. I was lucky as far as expense went though since I didn't have to hire a plumber because my soul mate is quite the handy man to say the least. If you have ever had to pay a plumber you know exactly how much that saved me in money. Three days in a row of frozen pipes is enough for me~! I am wishing for warmer weather soon~!

My mother and a close friend of hers made more cakes than most people would ever want to in their life time. I have been so excited since I heard about the "Kindle". I would love to own one but the price is up there a little to high for me. I can't imagine having so many books downloaded in such a small unit at my disposal at any giving time. I'm hoping like most new electronic gadgets that the price will in time go down so us poor people can afford it too~! I think the Oprah review might of ignited a crave for this new invention and kept the price up there for some time to come. Scrabble in a whole new look

I have played scrabble for years. I can't even count the number of hours that I have played. I grew up in a little town that loved to play board games and cards and they still do to this day. The adults meet at the local library and play cards once a week so scrabble was very popular. However I have never thought of scrabble as jewelry yet someone did. They took the scrabble letters and made wonderful pendants out of them with tons of designs to choose from. You will have to see these in order to appreciate it for sure. Another one of those days!

I have been having weird stuff happen lately and I think it's just plain bad luck. Most of it has to do with electrical items. In a post a few weeks ago I mentioned the freezer that some how became unplugged and I lost around $1,000 worth of meat not to mention the freezer is now in the garage and then we keep loosing power here. Even on Christmas morning we woke up to no power. The kids really hated that since most of there big gifts were electronics and no power to check them out with. We did finally around noon get our power back. Then during the power outage Scott decided to plug in an extension cord to my power jack in the car to the portable DVD player so we could at least watch a new movie on Christmas morning and blew a fuse in my car. Then this morning I went to plug my hair dryer in and flames shot out of it. It actually caught on fire in my hands. It didn't take me long to unplug it I can tell you that. The whole bathroom smelt afterwards. I just realized they all had something to do with electricity or electronics. How bazaar~! After a long day at work the last thing I wanted to do was shop but since I'm just getting over bronchitis , ear infections and sinus infection I didn't dare leave to go to work in the morning with wet hair not to mention if I don't blow dry my hair it kind of has a mind of it's own with horns sticking here and there so I stopped at Rite Aid and bought a new hair dryer. Now my hair dryer is about 20yrs old and I never realized how many different types there were to choose from until tonight. Well I decided on one that the cord retracted and it also folded for easy storage however I'm just hoping it has some power to it since I have long long long hair and I need it to dry quickly since I have an hour commute in the mornings and don't want to have to spend any more time then I have to blow drying my hair. If it's powerful I'll be happy. I'm hoping that my bad luck with electronic equipment stops soon. This is beginning to get expensive!

Sometimes I just get lucky and today was one of those days. I was kind of just crusin' around blog site to blog site checking out some new post and came across a link to this wonderful site.
