Sweeps4Bloggers is Cooking Up a Scrumptious Giveaway!

I am so excited to tell you about another great giveaway going on at Sweeps4Bloggers. If you love to cook your going to love what's going on at Sweeps4Bloggers. She has been busy posting a wonderful review and giveaway for Anthony’s Whole Grain Pasta and a Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless Steel 4-Piece 12-Quart Pasta/Steamer Set (ARV $160). Yes you read that right~! Why am I so excited? It's kind of a long story but I'll try to keep it short , you see I have never owned new cookware. Why? well when I moved into my first apartment my Mother gave me some of her old dishes and because I needed everything but couldn't afford everything I went to yard sales to buy what ever I could find cheap. Then I guess it's just one of those things that I keep saying "I've got to get a new cookware set" but just when I plan on shopping something else breaks around the house so it gets put on the back burner (pun intended). For example I was going to go shopping for a new cookware set in February of this year and low and behold the element in my oven went kaput. That's why when I read her review I couldn't wait to enter her giveaway. If you would like to learn more about this giveaway go check out Sweeps4Bloggers complete review and enter for your chance to win this fantastic set of cookware and pasta.

Uprinting offers online printing services for all your printing needs.I have been using Uprinting for the past two years. One of the features that Uprinting offers is to get a proof of your design before ordering. This insures that your custom design is exactly the way you want it. I also like that Uprinting has an online chat option to help with any questions and phone support in case you want to talk with a live representative. Even though these options are available I had no reason to use them because Uprinting made it so easy to complete my order. Today I had the opportunity to design some really cute Window Clings. Uprinting offers endless designs to choose from or you can upload your own design. The choice is all yours.
We have a music room in our house and I found this really neat Window Cling that would look great in the studio. No I didn't design this one. This is actually one that Uprinting offers.

I also found a Window Cling that I thought would be a great way to thank our fallen troops. I downloaded this design and added my own text. Uprinting is so easy to navigate It took me less than 3 minutes from start to finish.
To find this design I just typed the word "Troops" in the search box and up came several designs and I just clicked on the one I wanted. The choices of designs and options seem to be endless. What took me the longest was choosing one from so many wonderful designs.

I'm not a very creative person so I was thankful for all the designs, however if your real crafty and have created your own design they can fulfill that order too.

Uprinting has offered me the opportunity to offer one of my readers a 16" x 20" Window Cling for One (1) Winner

Custom Cupboards

During the winter months the cupboards were built and I just love them. I'm a wood nut and love tongue and groove pine. The entire house is done mostly in pine. I wanted to keep the cupboards matching the wall with the pine but I also wanted them to stand out so that's when I came up with the idea to go with round cupboard doors and a round contour curve. We have a utility room under the stairway in the kitchen that we kept the same theme and made a round door. The kitchen has an adjoining dining room with sliding glass doors to the back yard and a round valance type entrance was made for that as well. We even did the windows with wooden round shaped valances. I can't wait for the house to be completed but we are getting closer every day. We just finished adding on a mud room that measures 10 x 12 to hold all the shoes and coats. Living in Maine a mud room comes in real handy. First you have winter which tracks in snow and makes a mess of the floor then comes spring for what we call mud season. This will help keep the floors clean. Our next big project is to put in a stone fireplace and chimney. If we get that done by late summer I'm hoping to add on a huge family room. But time will tell if that will be possible. I took this picture during the construction of the cupboards with my cell phone camera so the picture quality isn't that great but at least it gives you an idea of what they look like.

Not Scrapping but Scraping To Get Buy ~Make Money~

Who ever thought you could make money from broken down junk. That's exactly what I did. When I started construction on the new house there was junk on the land everywhere. Nothing had been cleaned up for years. I wanted it out of site, so I had it hauled outback because at the time the dump charged you for everything not to mention the gas cost to haul it three towns away (we do not have our own transfer station) and I was short for time. I figured I would haul it off some day when construction was completed. For those of you who have followed this blog since the beginning you know I have been building a house pay check by paycheck for the past 6 years. Construction is not completely completed but I am living in the new house now. One day I heard a friend talking about "junking" or what some call "Scrapping". This is when you take your metal junk that is no longer any good to a metal recycling shop/plant and they pay you by the pound for it. There is some things you need to know first if you want to make the most money possible. One is there are several different metals and you get paid different amount per pound depending on what kind of metal it is. Another is they grade the metal and you get paid by the grade. The cleaner the metal and the size of the metal determines what grade it is. For example if you junked an old air conditioner and just threw it on the truck to take it to the recycling shop that would be mixed metal and you wouldn't get paid much because it contains wires and two or three different type of metals in it. But let's say you took the motor and stripped it down to just plain steel you would get the higher price. The bottom line is the more you separate and the more work you do the more you get paid per pound. This was awesome because not only did I get my land cleaned up but I got paid to do it. Make the world a greener place to live , clean your yard and make money while you do it.
